Look at the different info available on http://www.lifeionizers.com/?utm_source=A&utm_medium=B&utm_campaign=C regarding water filters. This will help you decide what will work best for your home.

Hi,
Even I am looking for a good water purifier to install at my place. My sister is a physiotherapist and she told me not to go for Reverse Osmosis. She claims that vit B12.. which is present in water and non veg food gets filtered by RO. Also you can get that from non veg but that amt will be quite less as we dont take non veg or other food as frequently as we take water. She claims that there are many cases reported at her hospital with B12 deficiancy and all using RO system. :-(
References :
the website seems like an advertisement for the alkaline blue ionizer product. Of course, they would try and say the other forms of filtration are not as good as theirs. So obviously, they would disclaim reverse osmosis.

I've never thought of water containing nutrients, but I suppose it's true. But food should contain all the nutrients you need. Water should taste good and should not be contaminated, but I wouldn't count on water for nutrients...I just want my water to taste good and be safe.

If you want a nutritious beverage, drink tea or juice or milk to nutrients.
References :
1.) I think you should use regular osmosis to test the membrane. If that works, then you assume that the membrane is fine.
2.) Do the reverse osmosis process and test the water. I would use a boiling test. If the boiling point is higher, then you have solute within the water and the process did not work.

Some equations to predict if you have what you want:
pi=iMRT (van't hoff equation)
delta (temp) = iKbm (boiling point equ. m=molality, Kb=constant of water, i=ions)
good luck.
References :
Of course it's not harmful. It's better than non-filtered water.
References :
Very informative! ...
Very informative! Any idea on any specifics of the membrane availible? I'm th sinking since they have to be some small you must use some type of laser procedure for a diameter in the thousandths. Really looking to see if it is at all possible to do this homemade.
